Things to Do With Us

Tarapith Maa Tara Temple

It is a popular Hindu temple located in Rampurhat II CD Block. This tantric temple also adjoins a cremation ground that worshipped by Sadhak Bamakhepa for long. This temple is dedicated to goddess Tara (fearsome aspect of the Devi) and tantric rituals are performed here on a daily basis.

BamdevShangha Ashram

It is one of the key attractions of Tarapith usually visited by lots of visitors. Located next to the very popular Tarapith Mandir, this ashram houses the Samadhi of revered saint Bama Khepa who have had founded this nationwide popular Hindu temple.

Kaleswar Shiva Temple

Built in 11th century by Sri Raja Ramjiban of village Dheka Mayureswar. It is considered as a notable sculpture of Birbhum district and known mainly for its sky-touching height. Its magnificent architecture is done on the basis of the “Nabaratra” concept.

SainthiaNandikeshwari Temple

This famous subcontinental temple is a significant Shakti Peetha and commonly known as Nandikeshwari Tala. The name of the Goddess is derived from “Nandi” the follower and mascot of Lord Shiva and “Ishwari” refers to the Devi worshipped by Nandi. It is believed that Sati’s necklace have been fallen here.

Bakreswar

The village is really popular for the therapeutic hot springs and Shiva temple. Being a popular Shakti Peeth the temple is renamed as Mahishamardini Mandir (conflux of Shakti and Shiva tradition). Though its name suggests that male god resides here yet it is the place of reconciliation of dichotomy of feminine and masculine divinity into one.

Patharchapuri

it is another remarkable village in Birbhum district widely garnered attention of the visitors due to the monument of Data Mehboob Shah Wali (Data-Baba). Once it is the residence of Mohammedan Saint Hazrat Data Meheboob Shah Wali who reported died in 1299 B.S. He earned great wisdom for his Sufi Thoughts. Also he had god-gifted miraculous power to cure fatal diseases by using “ashes of dust”. Now thousands of pilgrims used to visit his tomb every year in Chaitra (March-April) during commemorating his death anniversary.

Fullura Devi Shaktipeeth

Settled down in the temple-town of Fullara it is another popular Shalki Peeth. You will not find any idol or image of goddess here. Rather a stone is worshipped in its Garbha Griha. It is the place where the lower lip of Sati has fallen down.

Kankalitalla Temple

Kankalitalla temple is another Shakti Peeth nestled in Kankalitalla of Bolpur Subdivision is Birbhum. This famous Hindu pilgrimage site is where waist or kankal of Sati has fallen!

BolpurSantiniketan (VisvaBharati University)

It’s easy to predict from the name that it is the place of the Great Poet Rabindranath Tagore. Apart from the public central university this place is tagged as the Institution of National Importance. Being founded by the Great poet, Tagore himself named this place as Visva Bharati (communion of the world with India).

Nalhateshwari Mandir

This very famous temple is located in Nalhati is the Rampurhat division of Birbhum. The place derives its name from the very name of the temple (Shakti Peeth) Nalhateshwari temple. As per the mythologies, throat (nala) of Goddess Shakti is fallen here. It is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas in India.
